StreamRecorder.NET is a small, simple and handy application that helps you record online audio streams such as podcasts or the broadcast of Internet radio stations.

Therefore StreamRecorder.NET preserves the advantages of powerful applications like the two aforementioned ones, which is a remarkable benefit, but it also cannot work on its own and requires those tools to be installed, which can be quite a drawback for those who need a simple, straightforward, no-frills sound recorder. I’m one of these people that would prefer downloading a complete audio recorder and not just a GUI that requires me to download and install additional media tools. Anyway, those who already has media tools like VLC or MPlayer installed on their system might find StreamRecorder.NET to be a convenient solution for their recording needs.

StreamRecorder.NET is quite simple-to-use. Though it requires you to enter the path towards the executable file of the media tool used for performing the recording, it’s quite self-explanatory and intuitive. It also allows using the Windows Task Scheduler to schedule recording tasks and it includes tools to facilitate joining together the recorded audio files or editing their tags.

Last but not least, StreamRecorder.NET is also open source, so you won’t have to pay a penny to use it. It’s a pretty interesting recording solution that will surely be preferred by plenty of users.
